Marie has over nineteen years of experience as a licensed psychologist. Upon receiving her Ph.D. in Psychology from Texas A&M University, she completed her internship at the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah. Postdoctoral training was at the Center for Family Development specializing in sex offender treatment.

In addition to private practice, Marie has been a staff psychologist on the Children and Youth Team at Davis Behavioral Health in Layton, Utah, Associate Executive Director of the Homeless Shelter in Salt Lake City, Utah, supervised psychology graduate students running process groups with homeless youth, and worked in a hospital inpatient and outpatient behavioral health unit, treating children, adolescents and adults in Ogden, Utah. Dr. Wood moved to Northwest Arkansas six years ago.
